Buhler schools qualifies to operate a summer meal program at Buhler High School. Our kitchen manager, Robin McGlynn, and the amazing kitchen staff have been prepping and getting ready to start TOMORROW!!! Please help make this a success by utilizing the service! Free meals are being served at Buhler High School May 28-August 2nd from 11am-12:30pm. Children must be with you the first time you pick up meals. You will be given a number you can show the next time. I have also attached the menu for both May and June. Menus can also be found on our website at USD313.org

Reminder! We are dismissing students at 12:55 tomorrow! Buses will run normal routes, but there is no Shining Stars or Cares Club! Have a great summer!

Buhler will offer a FREE summer lunch and breakfast program this year. Between May 28-August 2nd families may drive up to Buhler High School and pick up a lunch and breakfast for the next day between 11:00 and 12:30. See the flier for details. It will still be held at PHMS - this should leave enough time for those who want to go to the middle school choir concert to do so. What an honor it was to celebrate the year our new to Buhler teachers are about to complete! Last night our mentor teachers, administrators, and mentor directors had the privilege of hearing just a bit about the highly successful years each have had. Wow! There was laughter and happy tears and so many great stories about the work they do with kids each day. Buhler students and families are in great hands moving forward with this exceptional class of teachers! Beginning Band Instrument Testing Night Tuesday, April 9th - PHMS Cafeteria @ 6:00-8:00pm

Good morning, my name is Joel Montes and I am the percussion director for the district! After each school tested, we communicated with teachers and students that we are using today to catch any stragglers that didn't get to test for whatever reason. We will reach out to everyone by the latest on Monday. The next step is to either offer a spot or suggest they try the instrument testing night next week to be placed on a wind instrument. Apologies for any confusion, we had enough students miss the testing days at all three schools that this was the best way to make sure everyone received a fair chance to test. Thank you for supporting your kiddos on trying something new and putting themselves out there! Hiring season is a great time to remember what we do as educators. We shape futures and here at Buhler our vision is that teachers develop generations of positive world changers. We currently have three teaching jobs available. BHS Spanish/ELA, PHMS vocal music, and Plum Creek 1st grade. Additionally, if you are not currently an educator we encourage you to consider starting your journey to the classroom. There are a few alternative pathways to teacher licensure that don't require seat time at a 4 year university. You may have heard we are planning to open two birth-3 year old day cares. We are currently undergoing the remodel of a building at 56th and Plum in Hutchinson that will become a birth-3 year old day care, Crusader Corner Daycare. There will be around 60 slots available. In addition, we will be opening Buhler Beginnings Daycare at Buhler Grade School. There will be around 30 slots available at that location. Opening day has not been set but we anticipate early fall. Give them a STANDING OVATION! Parents, community members, and fellow staff members can nominate a staff member to receive a Standing Ovation Award. Recently we were able to deliver certificates to the individuals who were nominated earlier in the year. Thank you to these exceptional employees for making a significant impact for our students and one another. Four staff members from this group were randomly chosen to receive a gift card to Dillons, provided by the Buhler Education Foundation. Our next PreK and Kindergarten application clinic is TONIGHT, March 4th, at Plum Creek Elementary. There are three dates to join us and you do NOT have to attend the site your child will ultimately attend. The dates are: March 4 - Union Valley Elementary (5-7pm) March 18 - Plum Creek Elementary (5-7pm) March 25 - Buhler Grade School (5-7pm) ALL prospective preschool families should attend one of these dates, but only NEW to the district kindergarten families should attend. Current preschool students that will continue with us in kindergarten need not attend. Share with your friends looking for preschool options for their children. Students in our preschool classrooms can utilize our low cost child care options for all day care in the same building.
